Our Mission Statement:

The Federated Church of Livingston

Remembering our Christ-centered roots instilled in us by our affiliation with the American Baptist Churches (ABC) and the United Church of Christ (UCC) and their teachings, the Federated Church of Livingston sees as its mission, to build an integrated church. We trust that being a good neighbor has the power to shape a new reality! We are a diverse community of faith wrestling daily with Jesus Christ’s radical message to embody the love of God by seeking peace, justice, and acceptance for all.

As we strive to know Christ and serve in his name, we celebrate and live in openness, encouraging growth in knowledge and love, believing that God continues to speak to us and through us. Our desire is to offer a comfortable, relaxed place to join others in the journey of faith. We do not pressure people to believe one way but encourage each individual to pursue Christ from their perspective as a believer.

As an affirming church, we are OPEN TO EVERYONE, no matter who you are or where you are in life’s journey…you are welcome here!

Our Open and Affirming Covenant Statement:

We are welcoming to all of God’s children and embrace each for their uniqueness. We affirm that each individual is a child of God and as Luke 10:27 states, “Love the Lord God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength, with all your mind… and love your neighbor as yourself.”

So in acknowledging God’s openness and Jesus’ commandment to love one another, the Federated Church of Livingston is an open and affirming congregation, accepting of all, including sexual orientation, gender identity, age, family structure, race, faith background, disabilities, and economic circumstances, into the full life and ministry of this church.

“Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.” 1 John 3:18
